Continuous Vegetable Washer

con-veg-wash3.jpg (23791 bytes)

The very best for cleaner, fresher vegetables and fast operation
Nilma identified the need in large catering establishments for a continuous vegetable washing machine which would process large quantities of vegetables quickly and efficiently. Nilma therefore developed the Atirmatic a technological breakthrough in vegetable washing.

The major features are: the unique washing system, always using clean water, and the self contained design features of the machine. It is efficient in dealing with those vegetables which have tight leaf formations. Atirmatic is the answer to the need to process large quantities, quickly and with considerable labour savings.

Hygiene Ensured Extremely Simple Operation
The washing system developed by Nilma is based on a continuous whirl of always clean water (the whirl intensity can be regulated according to the delicacy of the product), and a covered drum engineered in such a way to form a platfrom area between the inner drum (accomodating the vegetables) and the outer drum. The movement imparted to the vegetables by the water whirl results the removal of all impurities, even those deep down in the foliage and is better than with any spraying, which would eventually damage  the product. The dirt and soil, dragged by the spinning of the whirl, are naturally conveyed off the inner drum, which perforated on the bottom, and run into the drain.

In this way, the upper part of the drum always stays clean and provides fresh water, together with the one coming in from the main service for the continuous washing.

The use of filters, which actually retain only substantial dirt is eliminated, together with the need of cleaning them periodically.

Atirmatic washing is absolutely safe and accurate because this totally automatic machine operates on a continuous basis with the intensity and speed pre-set by the operator.

The Atirmatic operating cycle consists of two separate phases:

1st Phase: Vegetable washing in a water whirl with varying intensity in the two sections of the drum: in the first one, a stronger turbulence helps in the separation of large impurities and sends them through the counter-drum up to the drain, while the second whirl removes minor dirt. The vegetables are moved on by the helical motion of the water and transported to the opposite side of the machine.

2nd Phase: Rinsing with new water from the network by means of spraying operated on the vegetables while these are moved on by the conveyor.

With Atirmatic automatic system, no pre-washing vessels are needed: vegetables can be loaded in bulk and there are no filters to be taken down and cleaned after use.

A cost saving washing
Atirmatic helps in eliminating handling time, because all operations are executed on a continuous, automatic basis. The operator has only to pour the vegetables into the large capacity hopper and the vegetables will be automatically washed. At the end, the vegetables are directly unloaded by the conveyor into the suitable trolley, therefore, there is not time waste, not even for the loading of washed vegetables:

one operator is enough.

Atirmatic does alone five persons work.

The cleaning of the machine is simplicity itself in fact, both the conveyor and the bottom grating can be manually taken down in a few seconds.

Finally, the total stainless steel 18/10 construction (including the conveyor and bearing structure) is a guarantee of exceptional sturdiness and durability, which completes the features of this Nilma machine.
